[Project Complete]

AMAFCA has substantially completed the first phase of construction of the Valle de Oro Drainage Facility. The Valle de Oro Outlet Structure Project involves creation of an outlet from Valle de Oro to the Rio Grande and includes construction of a gated floodwall along the edge of the Rio Grande Bosque, a maintenance access bridge, conveyance structures in two MRGCD facilities, the Williams Lateral and the Riverside Drain, and 200 feet of open channel swale.

Construction on the Outlet Structure began in January 2020 and was substantially completed in July 2020.

Bosque access is open; please visit the Valle de Oro Wildlife Refuge website for updates on major changes to the Valle de Oro Wildlife Refuge access for visitors.

For a live view of the Outlet Structure, visit the AMAFCA webpage for Arroyo-Cam here under the Valle de Oro Outlet Structure East View and West View tabs.
