AMAFCA Districts - 2012 Redistricting
AMAFCA is divided into five districts, each represented by one Director with a six-year term. The terms are staggered, and end in even-numbered years. Due to population growth and population shifts within the AMAFCA boundaries, AMAFCA redistricted in early 2012. The map below (on the left) shows AMAFCA's previous districts (click on the map to expand it), and the one on the right shows the new districts, effective February 9, 2012.
The initial public comment period ran from October 23, 2011 to December 29, 2011. Special Board meetings to discuss redistricting were held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, and Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the AMAFCA offices. At the meetings, the Board developed and adopted the new district map shown below.

The map below is zoomable beyond the capabilities of the pdf files (please be patient, as it may take awhile for the script to load). It also compares the former district boundaries to the new district boundaries.
